Description

Turn-Key Solutions is a custom machine tool integrator, automator, and welding automator located in Germantown WI, and is looking to add an assembly technician to its team of hardworking employees. 

 

Responsibilities

Tasks:
Under the direction and supervision of the Operations Manager, the incumbent performs wiring and assembly operations on a variety of mechanical and/or electrical assemblies or sub-assemblies required to build and install welding machines and other automation equipment. This position performs a variety of operations to assemble small and medium sized precision units, involving a considerable number of parts, and large units involving fewer requirements and parts. Also performs layout, assembly, and wiring of electrical panels. Assembly and erection procedures are generally standardized practices implemented in accordance with customer specifications and drawings. The Incumbent performs some fitting and alignment to ensure free movement and operating requirements. Most often works in a team environment and work assignments are subject to supervision and check, with final assemblies inspected and tested. Incumbent is also responsible for such other duties as management may assign to the position from time to time.

Work Context:
Incumbent most often is required to function in a collaborative manner with other shop personnel in a team effort and with engineers in problem-solving/corrective activities. Must effectively interface with customers’ personnel while at their location. The position requires initiative and dependability. May also have occasional interface with vendors and customers and may be required to participate in machine installation at customers’ locations.

Qualifications

Knowledge:
Requires high school education and up to 1 year of related work experience, some knowledge of electrical welding and control principles. Basic understanding of spot, seam, and MIG welding would be useful, but not necessarily required. Continuing technical education is also a plus.

Skills:
Good math and computer skills, good verbal and communicative skills, ability to interact with others. Ability to read and understand complex plans, specifications, and drawings.

Work Activities:
Incumbent’s duties are almost always performed while standing, or exercising other related gross motor skills such as bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, lifting, twisting, etc. Assignments can vary significantly and require a high degree of adaptability and flexibility. Requires good arm-hand steadiness, finger and manual dexterity, and near vision. Operation of forklift trucks and overhead cranes may be required.
