Position title
Mechanical Design Engineer
Description
Turn-Key Solutions is a custom machine tool integrator, automator, and welding automator located in Germantown WI, and is looking to add a mechanical design engineer to its engineering staff.
Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities would include, but not limited to
- Conceptualizing, planning and executing custom, build-to-order designs using 3-D modeling software
- Performing robotic simulations and time/reach studies
- Creating accurate & detailed drawings for manufacturing
- Specifying purchased component parts integrated into the designs
- Collaborating in a team environment with sales, other engineering staff, operations manager, toolmakers, assemblers, controls engineer, vendors and customers
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will:
- have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or Associate’s degree with proven mechanical design experience)
- have 2-5 years of experience designing custom machine tools, work-holding fixtures and jigs, robotics or factory automation
- be proficient using parametric 3D modeling software (Solidworks preferred)
- have an understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical controls as these relate to design of work-holding and special machine tools
- have an understanding of cutting tools and manufacturing processes that relate to this industry
- understand the application of GD&T tolerancing
- possess creative and innovative mechanical aptitude
- have strong communication & interpersonal skills
- be willing to work overtime in order to meet deadlines
